Precor 9.3x series (9.31, 9.33, 9.35)

Gotta agree with "Dave". I was a service tech for Precor for 6 years out of Florida and we repaired a ton of Precor treadmills all for issues that were design and research related.
I'm not if the fitness field anymore, but have a Pacemaster at home.
PreCor - all models

PreCor's are set with a small but noticeable incline. There are some who believe you can't get a "street" workout with a treadmill with a completely zero incline. So what? If I wanted a street workout I'd be on the street. The incline that is preset (even though the incline on the machine reads zero) is enough to really bother my knees.

Precor 9.27 (2008)
I had a similar negative experience with the Precor 9.27. The belt slipped on multiple occasions and it made a noise that sounded like metal scraping on metal. I was completely disappointed with this treadmill and view it as a complete waste of money.

Precor treadmills - all models - truly garbage.

I've been a certified Precor service tech for about 9 years now. Our company has made thousands of dollars off repairing their treadmills and ellipticals. They are just like Mercedes. They cost a lot and break down a lot. They generally put out their products without proper testing, as a result, the machines keep breaking down and have to keep getting upgrades.
Luckily, if the repair falls under the "upgrade category" you might be lucky and won't have to pay for the repair, except having your time wasted.
We all think they're over priced, and you're really paying for the long parts warranty. Even the Chinese made treadmills and ellipticals are better and cheaper than Precor these days.
Thank you for keeping us employed Precor. Please continue to design crappy over priced machines and please don't test them properly like your competitors.
On a positive note, they are good while they work.

It took almost 4 months and 4 repair visits to get this brand new (not a demo) treadmill to work properly. There were multiple problems. The first was that it squeaked very loudly, the repairman had to disassemble the running track twice to find the problem. It was a huge internal dent from some douche bag at the factory dropping it and covering up the accident. Another problem is the running track belt which always slips while running. It's been tightened 4 times in four months. The repairman says the 2008 model uses a different material/coating. It still slips after tightening I've now been shown how to do it myself because it needs it every week. Last but not least, the display units has been replaced twice! Both had different problems.
I bought this treadmill because I was buying Precor quality. Seems like they've cashed in on their good name and started charging big money for junk.
Refurbished Precor 956i
Got a refurbished precor with a TV because I thought refurbished meant "like new". Heart rate did not work, TV did not work. Had exposed wires under console.
Returned the thing. Then bought a used one. Serial number was missing. This was too fishy.
I said screw it in trying to save money and bought a new Matrix.
