The one thing that attracts people to Weslo Cadence 4.6DS Treadmill is its cheap price.
This machine is considered as a budget treadmill since it is priced below $500.
This unit would fit those who love to walk or from time to time, jog. It’s made from cheap parts and offers short warranties that’s why I wouldn’t recommend running on it. If you feel like this model isn’t for you, may I suggest you visit our best recommended treadmill page and choose a treadmill that fits your needs and your budget.
Update: This treadmill has been discontinued. |
The Weslo Cadence 4.6DS treadmill offers a 2.0 HP motor. This motor is good enough for jogging but not strong enough for runners. It would let you reach speed up to 10mph, but I wouldn’t recommend it due to its poor quality.
The 3%-10% Power Incline™ allows you to adjust the elevation of the treadmill during a workout. This feature lets you increase or decrease the intensity of your run anytime with just a touch of a button.
The Step-by-Step™ Feedback Console enables you to track your workouts. It shows the speed, time, pulse, distance covered and calories burned.
The EasyPulse™ Heart Rate Sensor monitors your pulse which you can view on the 3 windowed console of the treadmill. You just press your thumb on the sensor for a quick reading of whether or not you are on your target heart rate zone.
Comfort Cell™ cushioning lessens the risk of joint, ankle and knee injuries. It reduces harmful impact for a smoother run. The 18-inch x 50-inch tread belt would be roomy enough for most people. Both features are there to make the treadmill safer and more comfortable for your use.
The Space Saver® Technology allows you to fold-up the treadmill after you're done so it doesn’t take up extra room. This feature is perfect for those with limited spaces at home.
If I am to compare Weslo Cadence 4.6DS treadmill to the Image 10.0, which is in my opinion the best treadmill below $500, the Image unit gives you more features for about $100 less.
Also, although it is manufactured by Icon, this Weslo treadmill isn’t iFIT compatible, which is actually a nice feature to have especially on budget treadmills.
I wouldn’t recommend this treadmill. I believe that there are better treadmills out there with comparable or cheaper price tags. Visit our best buy treadmills page and look for other budget treadmills.
