trouble starting my treadmill

There is trouble starting my treadmill. When it starts he goes very fast. When it was working probably I would begin at .5 and gradually increase to 1.0 to 1-4.

I use the stop button and sometimes in trying to get it work I move the emergency button. Also,at times in order to get the belt to move I push it with my foot and the belt will run but fast.

Is there a way to reset. Many thanks for any help you maybe able to share with me.
