I purchased the ProSelect almost 7 years ago and I'm very satisfied with the quality and reliability.
The first two years I used it off and on for about 12 months. Finally, I got into a good training zone and have been using my treadmill for over 3 years approx 5 times per week 66 minutes per session, and my wife also uses it a few times a week.
Last year I had to replace the incline motor and only in the last few week the circuit board is now overheating, but when I look at the amount of time I have put into this treadmill I'm still very pleased and would highly recommend this model. Currently, I'm looking at puchasing another Pacemaster.
My only complaint are those meanless codes. Why pacemaster doesn't have the codes listed in the manual or on their web site is frustrating.

I've had my pacemaster for 20 years.
I have trained for mainly marathons on It & actually ran one marathon on it! It's lived a great life but the brlt is dying a slow death.
I am in no financial position to buy a new one but found someone who was giving an old piece of fitness equipment away.
I found a diamond in the rough (sp?). I have a pace master 870x that runs awesome! I feel like I won the lottery!
A 30 year old pacemaster beats any high priced proform any day! I stick by pacemaster!!!

I have actually gone through two of these treadmills; the first I purchased new and had well over ten years. I bought it when I lived in Ohio and spend the fall, winter and spring running on it up to 3 to 4 times a week for about an hour at a time. The second I purchased used from the second owner and it was actually older than they said but I only paid a few hundred dollars and it lasted two years. Both of the treadmills were used alot by both myself and my husband. I never had any problems with either and I felt the cost was reasonable especially for the amount that I used it.

I have the Pace Master Platinum Pro VR that I bought around 2 years ago. The big selling point for me was the simplicity and durability of the design...The very thick long life tread...The high horsepower motor, the ability to go up to 12 mph and 12 degrees up hill, and then the negative incline too.
It provides the perfect amount of shock absorption, and can take a heck of a beating. The VR programs are great. I like number one, simulating Lombard street, but I think I'll eventually use them all. It's really amazing how these programs make the workout just fly by. It really prevents it from getting boring.
So forget some of these treadmills with built in fan or i-pod dock. You don't need it. The bells and whistles are just more things to break. Simplicity, reliability and durability is what counts, plus a few VR programs that change up the routine enough to make them actually fun and never boring. It's the easiest piece of equipment for me to use in the morning, and we all know if you use a piece of fitness equipment on a regular basis, that's half the battle right there..

I have had a Pacemaster Treadmill since 1990 and it works just as great today as it did when I bought it.
Also had many years of wonderful performance from another Pacemaster treadmill I bought in 1992 for my office before it was stolen earlier this year.
Besides their excellent quality, I choose those models for their smaller foot prints, simple consoles and heavy duty motors.
The newer ones take up more space than I prefer, so I am still searching for an vintage Pacemaster to replace one stolen from my office.
I plan to keep this treadmill forever. If it ever does have a problem, I will spend the money to get it repaired.
One of the best investments I have ever made.
Thanks Pacemaster!

I bought this treadmill 15 years ago and the motor burned out today, 15 years later. Both my wife and I run on it, so it has logged thousands of hours. I will replace the motor and keep this machine instead of buying one of the cheapies you see in the ads. For all it's use, this is a great machine. I wish more products were made this well.

We have owned this unit for three (3) years. By week two the computer and elevation cradle went kaputz. Just thought it was not much of a challenge. Over the last two (2) years (2010 & 2011) we have had four (4) calls for service on the cradle and motor.
Not happy at all. This makes us believe that the glowing reviews online about this model are very bogus and an insider job and we fell for it, sink, line and hooker! And we have to pay a minimum of $120 for each visit by their repair company to even look at it.
I recommend that anyone considering purchasing a treadmill, look at other manufacturers, as this one is not worth it at all, well maybe as an expensive clothes rack!

I have owned a Pacemaster now for 6 years and generally will run on it an average of 20-25 miles per week. Overall I like it very much and there is no comparison between this unit and the "mass market" treadmills found at Sears or SportMart type stores. You clearly get what you pay for and Pacemasters are worth their money.
I had an issue with the electronics going out on my treadmill but it was covered under warranty. I paid $1300 for this new in 2003.

We bought a Pacemaster in 1999 and have used it extensively in our home gym with no problems including the so-called stability problem mentioned.
I believe ours is made of steel rather than aluminum.
The motor is still as quiet as when we bought it and the tread is still in good shape.
ALL features of the treadmill control and control panel still work like new.
I currently use it for 3-5 mile a day at 3.5 to 4 mph and vary the incline from 4.5 to 10.
My wife uses it for about the same distance and settings too.
I had never heard of Pacemaster when I bought but I am very glad that the fitness store person recommended.

Our Pacemaster is 15 years old and it's still going strong. To be fair, our workouts have been "on again, off again", but all five of us in the family have used it. They might cost a little more, but it's definitely been worth the investment. We'll be buying another one for sure.

I bought a Pacemaster Plus II treadmill more than 16 years ago.
At one point it time, albeit briefly, it served as a clothes hanger, but generally, I use this machine every day and I have been doing so for as long as I can remember.
I mostly walk on it, but occasionally will run. I was thinking about how many steps I've taken over the years and I haven't had a single issue.
Which got me to wondering if it's about time that I have some preventative maintenance done?
The only reason I am on this is to see if other people have had the same great experience.

The only thing "bad" that we can say about our Pacemaster Pro-SX is that, after 18 years, it broke - and the company went out of business a year ago and parts are no longer available. This means finding a different brand as product support for any of their products no longer exists.

We have the pacemaster pro select. It has been a great unit. 14 years old.
The incline gear box has packed it in and we need a replacement part. Ser# is: j4a s 72825.
The motor is fine some just need the gear box. Is it possible to get that part?

I bought a PaceMaster treadmill because of the quality of the product and expected reliability and backing of the warranty.
But the company has abandoned their installed base and will not honor the warranty.
DO NOT BUY PRODUCT FROM THIS COMPANY.

We purchased a Pacemaster Elite about 6 years ago and expected a 1900 dollar unit to last much longer when it was not utilized very much. The circuit board went out and made the unit useless. Incline programs no longer work.
If we were avid users that stressed the unit a lot, I would better understand the short life but it gets unused most of the time. Then we start using it and within 6 months it became worthless.

My Proselect was purchased in 2002 and currently has almost 1000 hours of use. We have been happy with the way it has worked. The only major issues we have had is with the incline motor which was replaced under warranty at two years in and now is out again but after many years of use. What I do not care for is the lack of informaton the unit provides when you have an issue. Currently my incline is showing an ERR condition which I believe indicates a bad incline motor once again. I would buy another Pacemaster product since we have really had good luck with this unit.

We have had our PaceMaster Gold for 6 years now, and we love the fact that it has been maintenance free. I have been on several other Treadmills and the PaceMaster by far is the best one. Thanks for making such a good product.

Purchased in Feb. 1995 and have never, ever had a problem.
Two sons used it while in high school and my husband and I have used it the whole twenty years - 4 or more days per week.
I never dreamed it would hold up this long.
Best Buy Ever!!!!

Check and compare Treadmills here before you buy any.
Check my pricing, ongoing promotions, manufacturer, mark and model, etc then make a decision.
