My Nordic Track C2420 has been a real workhorse for me. I have walked and ran on it daily for the past five years and it has performed great. I must admit I never did a lick of maintenance on it, except tighten some bolts. I use it in my unheated garage in northern Ohio (the Sears technician who assembled it for me told me it would never last under these conditions), but it can handle the cold better than I can.
Over the years I have had three problems:
1. It has gotten noisier with age.
2. The "cardio grip" fell off.
3. The belt cushion control has become difficult to regulate.
But despite these minor issues, it "takes a lickin' and keeps on ticking." In fact, I was surprised to learn from other reviewers that treadmills can be so problematic. Unfortunately, the walking belt has finally worn out on mine, so I am using this as an excuse to buy a new machine with some more bells and whistles. Rest assured I will be getting another Nordic Track. They say the company has upgraded its products considerably over the past few years, so I hope to get ten years out of my next purchase.

Bought at Sears for $1000 some 10 to 12 years ago. Only problem has been with the belt, which split and was replaced at no cost. Very good and reliable machine up until now.
Over the last year have been having a problem of shutting off randomly for no apparent reason. At one time thought it might be overheating but at present does not appear to be the cause. Search has revealed that treadmills apparently shut off because of excessive belt friction with the deck, requiring replacement of belt, although it seems the problem can also be dealt with with lubrication of the belt.
Would appreciate any suggestions.

I have been using a NordicTrack EXP1000 for quite some time (purchased new at Sears). It replaced a Weider/Pro Form treadmill that burned its motor.
I'm on this machine twice a day. From the very first, it had electrical problems. Well, actually, static problems. There would be so much static that the machine would short itself out and stop. (With shock to the user when touching any metal parts during workouts.) Under warranty, the company serviced the unit by, ultimately, after the second visit, adding a wire to tap the static. (I also was told to add a mat under the unit to isolate it.) That made things better--the machine didn't short out, but there continued to be constant static discharge.
Now, the severe problem has returned. As far as I know, the wires they added are still connected, so that shouldn't be the problem. The machine turns itself off during workouts with no obvious reason.
I'm certainly not happy with this product, and would not recommend anything made by the same manufacturer.

I ordered a Nordictrack Freestyle (almost $2000.)
The website specs claims it was easy to set up and easy to move on its wheels.
When the machine arrived it turned out that it weighed more than 300lbs.
Early in the instructions the consumer is warned that they will need at least two people to set it up and two - three people to move the machine.
I returned it and had to pay return shipping ($150) and a 10% restocking fee (almost $200.)
I felt cheated because the website so completely misrepresented the dimensions and ease of movement of this exerciser.

I recently bought the x7i.It is a motivating machine to work out because you can goggle map and tranfer your personal workout to the console. The machine is expensive, so it better perform to it's standard. But so far the machine is a failure. I run fast and long distance, the belt keeps getting loose and deviating to either left or right.Ruin my exercise in the middle of my training.I have call for repairs 2 times. Now I'm waiting for the technician to arrive wich can take days.I hope the tech can fix this problem and be gone.If this problem keeps recurring i'll update my complaint to who is interested to this browser.

Very unhappy with this machine. It stopped working after exactly one year. Trying to get service repair was nearly impossible. Very frustrating. We decided to just scrap it and buy a new (more expensive) one and hope that we get what we pay for.

I bought an extended warranty when I bought this machine. A repairman came to do a yearly maintenance on it - said the frame was bent. I was authorized to get a new one within the purchase price of the original one. I ended up paying more for the new one to make up the difference, had to buy another extended warranty for $259.00 and they wouldn't take the old treadmill away and we had to put the new one together. The trucking co. that brought it weren't even permitted to unload it from the truck so we had to struggle to get it off the truck - 259 lbs. What a joke.

I have a NordicTrack C2150 treadmill. I have had it 3 years and it works fine. It has many positive features-one step incline and speed, and preprogrammed workouts (which you can change if a part is too easy or too hard for you). The only problem I have had is that the post to fold it into the upright position was located in a weak spot and while it was folded up, it broke through the plastic and fell down. Fortunately, no one was near it at the time but the loud boom did scare the heck out of us. So we had to glue the side rail plastic back together.
Other than that, I like the treadmill itself. I just find walking/running on a treadmill mindless gerbil activity and am selling it.

It was an ok machine when we first purchased it about a year ago. We are now shopping for a landice, we will not be getting the nordic track repaired. Problems with the nordic track are as follows. Cheap parts strip screws, belt moves and slips constantly. I can't use the machine for running because it squeeks and slips. The cheap belt vibrates when it goes past 3 speed. I would not recommend a nordic track in the 1,000 dollar range.

The problem is it keeps shutting off during use and this is after a new motor and other parts.

I just recently purchased this specific treadmill to replace my older Pro Form model. I was looking for something similar to what I had, not needing many bells and whistles. I got this NordicTrack half off the suggested retail price directly from NordicTrack due to some sale they were promoting. Delivery was fast however the delivery company only places the LARGE box right in your front entry way. They won't take it further into the home for fear of damage to carpet or walls. The box was FILTHY which made me realize that I was going to have to somehow get this 300+ lb machine out of the box and into my room with the help of my 8 yr old kid (single parent). We managed surprisingly much to my shock but this machine is no doubt HEAVY. We ended up sliding the desk and base on its side into my room after removing all the parts for assembly. Assembly was less than pleasant. The directions were great and well explained however the bolts gave me more problem than I have ever experienced in the past with assembly. There were several times when I didn't think I was going to be successful in completely getting all the bolts fully into place. The bolt that holds the latch knob (the part that allows it to be folded up) still does not work properly which is rather dangerous. The deck is VERY HEAVY and could easily harm any person it could fall on. Ran on it today for the first time and that part at least feels pretty sturdy. I have iFit capability which I won't use but I do love how I can plug my ipod into the unit and the sound emits from speakers on the console. For half price I suppose this unit is not too bad. Would I do this again? Most likely I would pay to have assembly performed in my home. It was too frustrating to endure that again.

Nordic Track must be listening because I called last week about my Audiostrider making a clanking noise. I have had it for about 6 months, didn't purchase an extended warranty or anything and was expecting to have to pay for parts and service as per the owners manual. The nice and courteous rep registered my machine and sent out parts and service. They said they are not implementing the warranty fees like they used too.
I did have to wait on hold for 25 minutes though, but its better than my cell phone provider.

I have a Nordic Track treadmill for which I purchased an extended 3-year warranty. Included in the warranty is an annual preventive maintenance check. I called the company (they called themselves UTS or some such name--not Nordic Track although the warranty was supposedly issued by Nordic Track). I spent a lot of time in gateways (dial one for English, etc.) and then was on hold for perhaps 10 minutes. When someone finally answered, they told me I had gotten the parts department and they would transfer me to the right department. I went thru the same gateways, and hold, and got someone else which I found out was the exact number I had first dialed, but of course this was the "wrong number" too. I spent an hour making calls, being transferred, and being on hold until I realized they had no intention of honoring any warranty. I will never buy another Nordic Track product, and I could not recommend this product to others. Fortunately, by threatening legal action, I got my extended warranty cost refunded.

We've had our treadmill for 7 years and used it probably 4yrs total. My husband has taken great care of it with lubricants, etc. My husband is 6'4" and 230 and I am certainly not small framed and it has managed to keep running! We both use incline and walk/run. We certainly are not avid runners but enjoy an interval workout. Just this weekend the frame at the bottom gave way and is a $80 piece to fix. Although the motor still works and gets you thru a workout you can hear it strain once weight is on it. We are upgrading instead to the Elite 7500. I'll let you know how that works!

I purchased a Nordictrack 2001 teadmill back in 9/01 and used it for over 6 years and 20K miles before a repair was needed. A relatively inexpensive extended warranty contract covered the repair and I have been using it without any issues ever since. I am frankly amazed at the concerns that have been expressed regarding this brand's durability and repair. This treadmill cost me 1K when purchased it and it only has a 1.75HP motor so it was in the lower mid level of technology and cost.
Would receommend one to anyone. I run/walk 5 miles everyday on it.

I have been an extremely loyal customer with ICON and have purchased 3 new pieces of equipment all brand new and registered in their data base by me beginning the original customer.
I bought my New elliptical from Groupon which were running a 50% special, I bought my xi11 treadmill New from EBay worth three thousand dollars through Pay Pal and when I called to service the machine the first time I had no problem they came and repaired it using the original warranty, that they now say isn't valid for me any longer and finally I bought another $1500 New bike and an extended warranty through them directly.
As in paragraph 2 of the Limited Warranty :
"This warranty extends directly to the original purchase (Customer). The customer by definition means end user.
Because EBay and Groupon were the middlemen and not the end user they can not be defined as the customer.
Since I am the only end user I am the customer as defined by their warranty, I therefore must be the original purchaser.
Hence the warrantee is in effect and is to be used by me as the customer.
The treadmill broke for the second time because it was a poorly designed equipment unable to handle daily exercise.
I expected more from a expensive machine that costs $3000 and ended up being a piece of crap.
When I called customer service instead of treating me with the respect as very loyal customer they berated me and told me they wouldn't honor my warranty even through they had before.
When I got upset with this and was telling him how poorly I was being treated he told he would hung up on me if I said one more word about their company.
I have been working for Time Warner Cable for 25 years at customer service an employee that hangs up a customer for any reason is terminated because those calls need to be referred to a supervisor who will then handle the call.
They told me any and all products bought on EBay or Goupons and any other middleman were consider Used and not under warranty even though they were not the end user hence not the customer.
I couldn't believe he was so rude and asked him to send it to me in writing which he did
This is the Email they sent me:
******* ICON'S Email********************************
We sell our machines only to authorized vendors and who ever purchased that machine from the authorized vendor is the original owner of the machine.
If that person then goes and sells the machine, even with it being new in box, through eBay, Craig list, local add, etc. that machine is then considered a second hand machine.
As stated in our limited warranty terms: "This warranty extends only to the original purchaser (customer)."

I want everyone to know if you ever buy any product for ICON through EBay, Groupon or any internet site your screwed! they will take every effort possible in order not to repair there subpar equipment and stand by there product and repair their equipment.
They keep you on hold for 40 minutes and then treat you like garbage and look to save money by voiding out warranties which were caused by the defective quality of their equipment.
I would advise any one looking to buy Sports equipment to look at other manufactures who produce quality equipment that wont constantly break ruining you work outs and stand by their products.

We've had an EXP3000 for almost 5 years and I think it's possessed because it simply stops on it's own. It will work fine for about 5 min. and then simply stops. I would NOT recommend this product to anyone. Five years sounds like a long time to have a treadmill but it's only primarily been used for walking and for a cumulative 3 out of the 5 years, it's been collecting dust since it's only used sporadically.

I bought this machine after reading all the reviews on the Nordictrack website. Everyone seemed satisfied. I, however, must have gotten a refurbished one or something. It worked great for the first 35 days, then the belt started to shift. I got online and pulled out the manual. Did everything I was suppose to do. The belt kept shifting during use. So I called at day 38. They sent someone out who was great. She fixed the machine...for a day. The belt shifted and started skipping (was WAY loose). I called, was told someone would contact me within 48 hours, I had to call back a week later. Was told someone would call within 24 hours. Three days later I called back AGAIN and said I just wanted my money back. They couldn't do that because my original call was at day 38 and passed the 30 day guarantee. That's crap! My bad it didn't break down 8 days earlier. I finally got my service tech out here today (another week later BTW) and she tells me it needs new bolts. She KNEW it needed new bolts when I talked to her a week ago, but Nordictrack won't let her put an order in until she's been out. The order will go in for the bolts today, but I'm looking at AT LEAST another MONTH before they get in. What the crap???? I paid GOOD MONEY for this piece of junk and I expected more than a month out of it. I could have paid for a years membership at the gym for what I paid for this. Big fat THANKS FOR NOTHING Nordictrack. Don't buy this one...actually, I wouldn't buy Nordictrack at all! AND I'm filing a complaint with the BBB. ---This is the same review I submitted to the Nordictrack website, they didn't post it. Nor are there any negative reviews posted at all on their website, how convienent for them to be able to pick and choose which reviews they want to post.

I purchased this used in 2004 for something like $400. It was well-maintained and worked perfectly. I used it only sporadically and have had minor things, like belt adjustment (this happened on an uneven floor), come up. The manual help was enough so far.
I'm getting back into running and got on the machine yesterday and it wouldn't work. The console lights up but the buttons don't respond. It has happened twice before and was corrected by turning the machine off, unplugging and trying again later. This time I followed the directions and adjusted the reed/magnet by the belt and that hasn't worked. I saw another troubleshoot online that mentioned an optic sensor. I will try that and if that doesn't work, I will try to find someone to service it.
In all, I love the machine. Mine has the plywood deck and I like it much better than the ones at the gym. It's sturdy and generally, has been reliable.

Buyer's beware...DO NOT BUY A a Nordic Track Treadmill. I purchased a Nordic Track ELite 7500 with a 7" color TV in June of 2008. The TV did not have any reception without cable or Direct TV. Once connected to Direct TV (in August) the volume blasted even on the lowest setting. I have gone round and round with Icon (Nordic Track). The technician (from another organization) has been out several times and they have replaced the TV, the console, and every cable. The technician just visited again today and here two months later, with all new parts, the problem still persists. What infuriates me even more is the lack of cooperation you get from Nordic Track's customer service department. All of the customer service reps (and I think I have spoke to just about all of them by now) always say, "Well, we are doing our best to try and solve the problem. We kept sending you parts. We are just doing our best!" Well just how many damn parts must you send and if that is their BEST, I am shoked that Nordic Track stays in business. Basically, after they sell them, it's "THE HELL WITH THE CUSTOMER!" SO, in short...DO NOT BUY A NORDIC TRACK ANYTHING!

I bought a Nordic T9.1 Threadmill and it is making an abnormal noise from the day of installation although installer told they will replace a bearing. But it is very annoying to have a new machine with a bearing fault. I don't know how long this machine will last good. I noticed the workmanship is also not good.

We bought an ICON Health & Fitness treadmill worth c.$2,000. After about 12 months it broke and about 18 months later it is still not working properly. It took them ages to send someone out and even longer to source replacement parts. They mostly ignored us when we tried to contact them too.
Their customer service is a disgrace and I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again.

I have been having a treadmill used for a few years just by me. Now have too many problems for a year. Since I paid close to $1000.00 I don't want to throw it away my husband bought several parts and changed them still it stops abruptly without warning and totally dies on me. now it starts to heat up after my husband tightened the belt. NordicTrack is not off to a great start, as they are unable to meet the initial expectation of delivering a treadmill on time (within two weeks, as stated on their website).
After placing the order, I was not able to track the progress of my order. When I clicked the link to track progress no information showed up, other than the order number and the product name. A week after placing the order, I finally get an e-mail stating it has been shipped.
A week later, I get another e-mail stating it will arrive in the delivery facility within 5 to 7 business days at which time the delivery facility will contact me within two business day to set up a "mutually" convenient day to deliver.
When the delivery company called to set up the delivery two business days later, the soonest date available for door delivery was 21 days later.
As of today, I am still waiting for final delivery at a grand total of 46 days after placing the order. This is a far cry from two weeks. When I contacted NordicTrack about the delivery, I was told "I am sorry for the delays, its just our busiest time of year."

This is my first expierience ever giving anything a bad rating. I usually don't do this but with this investment I am very unhappy. I always thought you get what you pay for, not so with this equipment. It's a high priced junk in mine and my husband's opinion. We would have been better off with the $300.00 store brand. This $1500.00 piece of equipment lasted ONE YEAR. I could have bought three of the cheapies and made them last for much more than a year for the same price. It makes me SICK as my husband is a TYPE 1 diabetic we figured this would be a GREAT investment to his HEALTH. Boy were we HIGHLY disappointed. It's nearly impossible to get them fixed(what a run around). Ours still sits out in the garage 8 months later with the burnt out motor. $1500.00 will get you people lots of gym memberships without the headache of repairs. Take my advise and just go do that. I wish someone could have warned me...GoodLuck!

Purchased from Sears on January 3, 2000. I was 56 at the time and used Mountain Trail program five days a week. Replaced walking belt on August 6, 2004. Continued to operate Mountain Trail program five days a week. Replaced walkiing belt again on April 4, 2008. Motor died this morning - June 13, 2008. I think I got my money's worth. Will probably buy another NordicTrack and hope to outlive it.

We've owned this treadmill for about 5 years now. Generally, we really like it. We use the device regularly, every day. The reflex deck is GREAT!
That's the upside.
The downside:
I've had to replace the motor speed controller THREE (3) times now. The latest April '08. And now the price of the replacement part is up to $185.00 inclu tax and shiping. My wife and I are contemplating whether or not to chance that the manufacturer has worked out the obvious design flaw and purchase the next generation of this deck. I simply don't want to run on a non-flexing deck. The reflex deck is absolutely the only way to run indoors. Desicions, desicions. This is the last time I'll fix this thing. WHEN it fails again it's on the trash heap and we'll have to decide Nordictrack or not.

I enjoy the machine and most of the features. (I have not used the ifit.com feature) I have had many instances where the machine stops about 25 to 30 minutes into the workout due to overheating. overall it is a decent machine for a beginner or a moderate workout.

I bought a NordicTrack X5i incline treadmill from the company two weeks ago. It was touted as having the iFit live module whereby the treadmill interacts with a wireless network tracking weight, diet, exercise regimens, etc. even linking with Google maps so that one can simulate trails and routes from anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, NordicTrack neglected to mention on the website that the firmware is not yet available for this model and there is no tentative date for the firmware release. I am therefore stuck with a $1700 treadmill that will not do as promised. I emailed the company and got the company line about the programmers working on the problem and that I wouldn't be charged for the service until it is working. I am now relegated to being a beta tester for a product that doesn't work as promised. I would beware of this unit and company for now.

Great at lower speeds, but JERKS when you're trying to run on it. Also, running belt has shifted to the left, to the point of rubbing the housing - and I can't locate ANY place that has an Owner's Manual - including NordicTrack.
Its an older model - but I at least expect to be able to find out how I can shift the running belt back to center. I'll buy a different brand next time.

I have had an EXP2000 Nordic Track Treadmill for years--I bought it new. It has been great! Before leaving home, my kids and their friends used it, as did my spouse on occasion. I have been the "regular" user and have appreciated all of its features, but especially the "springy" running/walking surface, as I frequently use it barefoot. (I have tried going barefoot on other treadmills and found it uncomfortable--their surfaces were too hard.) Those of you that run (or walk) at the beach know that going barefoot uses/develops different muscles, and this is a good thing for your body. I had one minor repair under the warranty many years ago, easily taken care of with a repair person visiting.
Unfortunately, it is years beyond the warranty now, and I am currently looking for a repair person in the Seattle area. The whole belt has moved to the side and dislodged something--I cannot use the machine until it is fixed. (I am not wanting a new machine, don't need any recent "bells and whistles," prefer just getting my "work-horse" repaired!)
So, yes, this machine has had a good long life, and I hope it will continue!

This machine was a little challenging to setup but I love the features. I've had it for 3 weeks and so far so good. However, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. It took forever to get it (2 wks beyond the 5-10 business days) and I emailed countless of times but I couldn't get a response or a call back. This scares me since I bought the extended warranty. No problems yet, but I worry that when that day comes I'll get no reply. Frustrating! but as I said, the unit is doing exactly what I need it to do.

Hi, I have a NordicTrack EXP2000S Treadmill that is not working anymore. I have found that the problem is in the PWM motor controller. How could I get a replacement?

I had my treadmill repaired . Mine is a weslo manufactured by ICON .It was repaired by MR Appliance Repair out of Qwen Sound Ontario Canada, phone 519 372-0803 . The repair man came to my house and repaired it all I had to do is call, same as getting my appliances repaired. They also repair them under warranty for the manufacture ICON . If you live in the georgian bay area they are the one to call. Very satisfied.

Very unhappy with this machine. I paid $900 for it and it just stopped without any warning while I was walking on it and it wouldn't start anymore. Now I have a huge, useless eyesore in my office and am very unhappy about it!
I will never purchase another Nordic Track product and recommend no one else does either. There was no reason what so ever for this machine not to work. I only used it for walking!!!!!!!

I purchased a C900 treadmill from NordicTrack.com at the beginning of July. I paid the extra money to have someone put it together for me. These were people hired by NT but paid by me. They did not know what they were doing and within 2 days the belt was completely off-center on a machine that claimed that wouldn't happen often. Good luck getting a hold of customer service. If you go the email route, you get smart a$$ kids who don't comprehend what you've written and you get an answer that isn't an answer; they are a complete waste of time. Expect to spend at least 15 minutes on hold waiting to actually speak to someone and then be prepared to fight for what you want. And then know you won't get exactly what you want but some compromise version you weren't aware you were agreeing to. The delivery guys stole the allen wrench that comes with the treadmill and I don't own tools so this is a major problem for me, especially with the belt needing an adjustment every 2-3 weeks. The website and the user manual do not say what size the allen wrench needs to be. I thought when I had been on hold in July they had agreed to send me a replacement one (only $4.03 on their website)for free but I guess that was just to get me off the phone as it has been 7 weeks and I still don't have one. I can no longer wait as the belt is starting to shred on the side. I've asked them for the size so I can buy the correct one but no answer so I guess it'll be hit or miss until I find the right one. Until then, won't be using the treadmill since I don't want to permanently ruin the belt on a 2-month old machine. If I could do it again, I would never purchase from Nordic Track and I highly recommend that you stay away from them too. It is not worth the aggravation trying to get someone to help you with an expensive machine when they don't want to help you. Your just a sucker to them if you buy from them. I know it may seem silly to be so upset over a $4 tool but I spent $1000 on the machine and I don't think they should have any problem replacing something that was stolen by someone they hired on my behalf. If they give me such grief over this, what happens when something big happens and I really need them? Don't waste your money on them like I did. I 100% regret buying from them just because of their poor customer service and the unprofessional delivery people they hire.

So far we've been disappointed in quality and service. After the product arrived missing a part we called with model and serial #, etc. We were told to fax a copy of the sales receipt and a file would be opened for us. This was done and we received confirmation of the file but have yet to receive said part (10 weeks so far). While the part is important (speed down button) we have been able to use the treadmill without it. Now the belt is slipping and has begun sliding to the left against the side rail so that the machine is unusable. Any attempts at adjustments according to the manual have been unsuccessful. I called the help line at 530pm Atlantic (it is advertised as being open until 5pm ET) and had to leave a message on voice mail. We had a considerably less expensive treadmill previously that provided hundreds of miles of runs.

I bought a NordicTrackC2200 from Sears almost 4 years ago for over 1200 dollars I read the manual thorougly, cared for it regularly and lubed as recommended. Sears serviced it within the first 3 months and from what the last tech (not Sears) said they actually damaged the front roller by overtightening. Now it speeds up and slows down at will, Icon says talk to Sears; but it takes 3 services calls to get one intelligent person out and it is out of warranty. So do I Invest 175 dollars for the service/repair on a machine which now has the value (?) of a service call?
Do your research folks and buy from a fitness store not a department store.
PS I cannot find anyone but Sears who will "service" Nordictrack machines. There's an oxymoron.

I own a EXP 1000. It's about 3 years old. Things I like; large running surface 20x55, lots of features. Things I don't like; very noisy, creaks like it is falling apart. The 1.5hp motor is not enough power for a half hour run. Calling Nordictrack will set you back for several hours of waiting. I would not recommend this treadmill.

I sell a variaty of Treadmills and Nordic Track is probably the number one seller. They are great because of all the different features that they now have along with the iFit technology.
Also Nordic Track almost always gives a lifetime manufacturers warranty on their motors now, but their customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I have had to deal with them wanting to charge for a phone call to refusing to come out and fix it and send you the part instead.
They are great machines but I hope yours never breaks, because getting service to come out is not likely.

Check and compare Treadmills here before you buy any.
Check my pricing, ongoing promotions, manufacturer, mark and model, etc then make a decision.
