The Horizon T54HR treadmill is the most expensive model in the Horizon series.
But it also has the most impressive features, specs, and motor warranty.
Just like other Horizons, this one is perfect for those looking for a machine they could proudly display in their house. This brand is known for making some of the finest looking entry level treadmills. However, if you are a serious runner, then this unit is not for you. It lacks the quality to withstand long, intense workouts.
This machine comes with the most powerful motor in the Horizon series. It has a 2.5HP continuous duty motor that has a speed range of 0-12mph and an incline range of 0-12%. This motor has enough power to satisfy most runners. However, due to its low quality, I don’t recommend you maximize this machine’s capability.
Update: This treadmill has been discontinued. |
The 20” x 55” running surface is big enough to make people comfortable during their workouts. But, it comes with an orthopedic belt. This belt is softer than ordinary belts but it also causes more wear and tear to the machine.
The Horizon T54HR treadmill also boasts 10 preset workouts including 2 heart rate programs. And, not only does it comes with a contact heart rate, it also features a telemetric heart rate receiver for added convenience and monitoring capabilities.
And finally, it comes with one of the best motor warranties below $1,500 which is 15 years. Other warranties include lifetime for frames, 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor.
The biggest weakness of this machine is its quality. Add to this the fact that it uses an ortho belt and it would only be matter of time before you'll need to repair or replace this treadmill.
With its cheap parts, I don’t think this machine will be problem-free for very long. So to conclude, I don’t recommend the Horizon T54HR treadmill. If you really want a mid-priced treadmill, see our best treadmill page and choose a unit in the $1,500 price range.
