The Horizon T53 treadmill is one of the few treadmills in the Horizon series to have a price tag above $1,000.
Just like other Horizons, this is also a basic treadmill that comes with below average quality. But the good news is that it has a motor warranty of 12 years which is slightly longer than other machines in its price range.
If you’re looking for a treadmill you can proudly display inside your home, then this is the model for you. Horizon is known for making treadmills with excellent designs. However, if you consider yourself a serious runner, I suggest you forget about this unit and buy yourself a treadmill in the $1,500 or above price range. (See our best buy treadmills page)
This machine offers a 2.25HP continuous duty motor. It has a max speed of 12mph and a max incline of 12%(with 500lbs of thrust). This motor is pretty impressive for a treadmill just above $1,000, especially since it has a 12 year warranty.
Update: This treadmill has been discontinued. |
The 20” x 55” running surface is big enough to accommodate big people. Its length is also perfect for tall people since they have longer strides.
This unit also features 8 preset programs. It adds variety in your exercise to avoid boredom and to keep you motivated. Also, if you’re someone who loves to workout in your target heart rate zone, then just use the contact heart rate to monitor your pulse.
And finally, as I’ve mentioned before, this machine comes with a hard-to-beat 12 year motor warranty. Other warranties include lifetime for frames, 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor.
Like most Horizons, this one also comes with low quality. This machine’s parts (except the motor) would probably need to be repaired or replaced after a year or two of continuous usage.
Due to its quality, I don’t see this machine to be useful for very long. So to conclude, I won’t recommend the Horizon T53 treadmill. You’ll be better off buying one of our best treadmills. It will save you more money in the long run.
