The Horizon T51 treadmill is the cheapest model from Horizon.
It comes with a pretty decent features and spec considering its price. But like most entry level treadmills, this one also has some quality and durability issues.

Is This The Best Treadmill For You?
If you want a beautifully packaged entry level treadmill, then this is your model. It is one of the best designed units under $700. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to serious runners. It lacks the power, features and specs commonly required by hardcore runners.
This Horizon model has a 1.75HP continuous duty motor that has a max speed of 10mph and max incline of 10%(with 500 lbs thrust). These are the average in the $700 and below price range.
Update: This treadmill has been discontinued. |
The 18” x 50” running deck is perfect for those who would use this machine for walking or jogging. But if you’re going to run on it, I don’t think this space is enough to make you feel comfortable.
This machine also features 4 workout programs to add variety. And if you want to exercise in your target heart rate, this machine also allows that. It comes with contact heart rate, which monitors your pulse and enables heart rate workouts.
And finally, it comes with a 7 year motor warranty. This motor warranty is pretty short considering that new Proform treadmills now offer 10 years for their motor. Other warranties include lifetime for frames, 1 year for parts and 1 year for labor.
Its quality is definitely a weakness. It is made from China so I wouldn’t bet on it to last very long.
I don’t recommend the Horizon T51 treadmill for its low quality. Besides, other than the design, there’s nothing really special about this machine. It is just an average budget treadmill.
If you really want a quality entry level machine, I suggest you visit our best treadmill page and look for a machine in the $1,000 or below price range.
