If you buy a treadmill that is on display, make sure the clerk tries it out for you, I took mine home and it didn't work, exchanged it for the 420 in a box.

Had this unit for just over 5 months (got it brand new). The display no longer works and the warranty is only for 90 days. When I called, the factory suggested that I replace the entire top unit which would cost me $300.

Its hard to slow down when you're at maximum level because your concentration goes on pressing the little decrease speed button and not on your momentum. You lose the use of one arm.

A great, inexpensive treadmill! It was purchased at Walmart and has been a great investment. Only a year old so I can't comment on its durability. The preset workouts are great. With other types of exercise equipment, I get bored easily and find it hard to stay on for 10 minutes... But with the speed and incline changing automatically, 30 minutes went by in no time!! Fairly quiet too! I'm 5'11" and the length of the treadbelt is perfect. Folds up wonderfully. If you're looking to spend less than $400 on a decent treadmill, this is THE ONE!

Less than 30 days after purchase and the buttons do not work.
I could not get it to start.
The decline worked but no incline. Reduce speed worked but not increase. Junk, Junk, Junk !!!
-----Comments-----
For this to happen within 30 days of purchase is completely unacceptable.
Gold's Gym my have a poor quality control system in place, its ashame.
I would recommend you simply return the unit and get your money back.
Look at other best seller brands of new treadmills in the market today.
All the best

Have had it for 1yr first sixs months belt slipped so bad I had to have it repaired. I tried the service but it's impossible to break the phone line. Recording says they will call you back. The light on read out panel has burned out so the only way you can see what you are doing is to turn on the room light.. The belt is starting to slip again so I will have to pay for another service call because you have to take the whole machine apart to adjust it. I would not buy this brand again.

Iconfitness.com is a company that you contact if you have a problem with your Gold's Gym treadmill. Well, good luck! I hope the fan doesn't quit working because apparently they only manufacture those once in a blue moon. I have been waiting 3 months for the part, it quit working 29 days after I purchased the machine. I can go out and buy it from other websites for $50, but apparently they can't do that to send it to an existing customer. I wish I had returned the machine when it quit working, but who would think it could take this long to get a console fan???? just beware! there is LITTLE TO NO CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THESE PEOPLE!! MY OPINION??--DON'T BUY A GOLD'S GYM TREADMILL!

I purchased a Crosswalk 650 from Wal-Mart in 2008. Within about 7 months it was inoperable (belt was apparently skipping). They sent a tech out who basically told me he didn't know how to fix it. The warranty people at Icon Fitness, after I called several times trying to solve the problem, told me there was nothing more they could do because there was no other technician in the area to fix it.
I found a technician myself who had worked for Icon before, and they sent someone out twice and finally got it running again. It was about a three months from the time it broke to the time it was fixed.
It ran about 4 months after that and now I am without a treadmill again. The same thing is happening and the extended warranty people said that Icon couldn't find any of the notes from the first time it broke. So, we are starting over again with this talking to warranty reps, sending of parts, and trying to find time to be at home for the tech.
I strongly recommend that buyers not purchase anything serviced by Icon fitness, Gold's Gym products included. I am out a lot of money and I have a useless piece of very heavy equipment in my home.

I bought my GG treadmill last Christmas. It worked great for 6 months & one morning just wouldn't work. I spent months trying to reach & speak with Customer Service. That was a joke. Passed on to different people & 45 min. at a time. No help at all. This week my son finally got a supervisor on the phone. He says I have to REPLACE THE ENTIRE TOP CONSOLE..at a cost of $165...PLUS SHIPPING! I think that is ludicrous for a treadmill less than a yr old! I have since found many others who have had issues too & gotten no help from their customer service. Walmart is no better. They passed you on to the company. Best advice is to look for a better company!

Hi,
All I have to say is your product SUCKS! I will not ever buy another one of your products again. We bought the 450 treadmill on Feb.4,2009 and when we put it together, it did not work. So we called support and they had to send us a new part which we just got on Feb.17,2009, and behold, it still doesn't work. So now they say we need another part, I am fed up with this run around and I am hoping to take this piece of JUNK back. I will tell all my frinds and their friends not to buy any of your products.

I am a rather avid runner. I purchased a Gold's Gym 410 treadmill from Walmart about two weeks ago. It never fails that after I 'run', the belt has shifted to the left or right, mostly the right. I've checked the tension and made the proper 1/4 turn adjustments and it still happens. I wish I had read this review before purchasing the 410. I should have spent a little more money for a better treadmill or one designed to handle runners.

So I waited four weeks to get my golds gym cross walk 570 delivered. When it finally got to my house we opened the box and put the treadmill together. As we find that a screw that holds the tread in place is broke in half with most stuck in the end of the treadmill. We call the customer service number and wait on hold for well over half an hour everytime before we even speak with a real person. The first time the representative says in 3-5 business we will get a call to schedule a service date. On the fifth day we call to find our information was passed to someone who doesn't service our area. So they say in two days we should get a call. On the second day there is still no call. So again we call and wait for over 45 minutes. They tell us there is no guy to service our area so they have to use their outside company and we should get a call the next day. Again they don't call so we wait on hold for 55+ minutes and ask for a supervisor. He says he will personally take all of the information in our calls and get in touch with the service company and have them call us the next day and if he can't get them to, he will call us personally. Here it is the next day and again no one has called us to fix the treadmill that came broken and we have nadir for three weeks just sitting in the corner. I type this as I have been on hold this time for an hour with no answer and now it's after 5pm and they probably won't pick up. The customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. If you have a piece of golds gym equipment. I hope it never breaks because you will never get them to fix it.

Hate, hate the Gold's Gym 550. Three months after I bought it, the belt started slipping. Called customer service and followed their advice, and nothing changed. That was 2 years ago. Have tried to fix it and nothing works. It's been sitting in my playroom propped up in the corner for over a year. A horrible purchase.

Purchased this treadmill used and it worked fine for 4 days. According to the information mode on the treadmill, it's been run for a total of 26 days and just over 90 miles in it's lifetime. Now it does nothing but light up on the console - no motor, no sounds, nothing. Of course the 10 year motor warranty is valid for the original purchaser only! Save your money, read the reviews - this thing is garbage!

Got the 450 and the first day the incline went up and wouldn't go back down. If this can't be fixed it is going back.

My husband and I recently purchased the Gold's Gym 450 treadmill from walmart, after reading some of the reviews wich mostly if not all positive and would have to agree that it's a good treadmill for starters, we've just started to work out at home so didn't really need anything high tech, anyways the under four hundred dollar price tag is also very appealing. I would recommend it.

Walmart does it again. Makes a company build according to their specs so they can sell it cheap. The display lit up for couple of minutes then dies. Hope I can take this back without having to take the junk apart.

We have a Gold's Gym Trainer 550 which had the display go out after about 8 months. This appears to be a common problem with some of their models. Contacted the company and they offered no help, minus selling us a new display for $290!

I purchased the new Golds Gym 550 Treadmill.
2 months into ownership and the display screen is flickering. I have sent e-mails to the warranty company to no avail. They will not return my e-mail to answer any questions regarding this issue.
Love the treadmill, just want the light fixed or replaced.

i bought my treadmill on march 19th, I started putting it together as soon as I got home. While trying to set it up, I realised the factory put the wrong part on & I couldn't finish putting it together, let alone use it. I contacted customer service and they sent a part, the wrong part. Contacted them again and they sent the same wrong part. I sent 6 more e-mails before I got a response. They wanted to send out yet another part (which I have yet to recieve). I told them if this part isnt correct I want to know how and where to get my money back. It's been a waste of my time and money having a machine sit in the middle of my living room! Then I got a rude response back from the company! I'm so furious, I'm returing the treadmill to walmart and I REFUSE to buy anything from gold's gym again!

I purchased my Crosswalk 550 9/2011 and purposely waited a year and a half to write any type of review. This is my first (The used Proform i bought off Craigslist lasted only a week so I don't count it)treadmill and I was scared to buy it because it is on the low end price wise and, I bought it from Walmart.
Today, I can't say enough good things about it! I have read lot's of issues with the displays on the Gold's Gym machines but, I haven't experienced a single glitch.I can honestly say that for the price there isn't a single thing for me to complain about. The suggested weight limit is 300lbs and my husband is very close to that weight. We have not experienced a single problem. The treadmill is used almost religously by at least one of us, 5 days a week.
It is a noisy machine and the speaker to plug your mp3 into isn't great quality. The fan once you start sweating is barely noticeable but, I didn't pay for a high end machine so, I'm getting what I paid for and that is fine. I run and sometimes walk a steep incline. I have never had an issue with the incline working properly. The programs the machine comes with are decent and you can raise or lower intensity to your liking. I would certainly buy another Gold's Gym product and still very happy with mine that is going strong a year and a half later.

Display is locked in demo mode? User's manual instructions don't work.
Happened about 95 days after purchase. Neither Walmart or Gold's Gym would stand behind it.
What a waste of money!

The Display will not display anything after 95 days. Walmart or the manufacturer would not stand behind the replacement of the electronics.

The first time I used it, it inclined to the maximum height and would not decline. I read the instructions, adjusted the incline "screw", and it raised up again but would not lower. I called the toll-free number, the CSR told me to repeat the "screw" adjustment, but still no results. Three weeks later the Treadmill Doctor came out with a new Motor, but discovered that the wiring was wrong from the factory, which caused the treadmill to incline but not decline. It works fine now that he rewired it. The electronic heart rate and pulse mechanism display is not accurate, but on a cheap treadmill it rarely is accurate. For a basic treadmill, at a low price, this one is OK. It is difficult to move around if you want to move it to clean the floor. We paid $387 plus tax at the Walmart in April 2009.

I bought this treadmill thinking it would be a pretty good buy for around $400. Upon using this machine, I was pretty happy with it.. until the incline gets above 2 and the speed above a 4mph. When I hit this point on the treadmill, the belt starts to randomly skid.
I called the manufacturer and was told that I was not lifting my feet up enough or the belt was loose.
This treadmill comes pretty much assembled, only had to bolt on the upper part, had no work to do with the belt whatsoever.
I don't drag my feet, at all, so I know that was not the issue, plus it happened with other people that I had test it out.
I tightened the belt, same problem.
This treadmill is good for brisk walking, I will not run on it.
The random skid that happens almost makes a person fall off.

I weigh 250+ lbs and have used this treadmill steadily for over 5 years. It only cost around $600 at the time I bought it at WalMart and I have used it every day. I use it for walking on an incline at about 3-5 miles per day. It had held up very well but it does require ongoing maintenance. I have replace the drive belt 2 times and the walking belt 1 time. I lubricate the under belt with Lifespan 100% silicone liquid about every 3-5 months or so. I do not recommend Gold's Gym models for running. After about 5 years of fairly heavy duty I think it is time for me to move up to a commercial model. This $600 treadmill served me over 5 years of heavy use...not bad. The weakest part of this treadmill has been the drive belts. I am always having to re-tension the belt to keep it from slipping. The motor is great. The electronics are great. The belts and lubrication are the difficult part of owning a treadmill.

I've believed quality has been built into Gold's Gym products until I purchased a Model 480 Treadmill. Assembly takes time but is not difficult and once it ws assembled and running it is a great machine for the price of $377.00 but the problem lies in that after a couple of weeks the machine fails to power up. The chip boards in the console are of poor quality, I've read where this has happened to other machines. Plus I purchased an extended warrenty and when I called the company I was passed on to other departments and no one ever answered my calls for help, now I'm stuck with a machine that does not work and I cannot use my warrenty.
I will never purchase another Gold's Gym, they do not stand by there products.

I purchased this treadmil at Sam's Club 7 years ago. I have always worked out at a club. So I wanted a good quality product that would last and would allow myself and my son to run without worry of break down. My son 225lbs and myself have used it for 7 years with no problems. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat!
