I have an old ProPlus ProPlus II

Something is wrong with the either the upper control display box OR the PC board in the bottom that drives the Tread drive motor.

Here's what happens:

regardless of set-speed on the top control panel, when I start it the tread immediately ramps up to what seems like full speed , then it stops, and the control panel shows CODE 31.

What does this CODE 31 mean? Can the machine be repaired by replacing the bottom PC board?

Looking to purchase a new treadmill for walking that offers exceptional cushioning as my wife has arthritis.

As this has to go in our basement, projected reliability is high on our list and we don't want to do this again.

We aren't close to a metropolitan area so service rep's won't be close.

I'm the tallest at 6' and heaviest at 175. Having tried the Sole treadmills at Dick's, we are thinking about the Sole F80 with it's 40% cushioning feature but it seems like overkill since we don't see ourselves even jogging (but can't rule that out).

In calling a Sole rep, they stated the F63 has a 30% cushioning feature.

I'm guessing these percentages are based on running so I don't know if they translate to walking (any ideas?).

We really would like to keep it in the $1500 or less range and are open to other brands if you have suggestions.

Or what your thoughts are if we would actually notice a difference getting the F80 as opposed to the F63.

We have room for the Sole's in our rec room, but they seem rather large as we plan to only walk on them.

Reading reviews online hasn't given me any clarity yet.

Horizon incline motor does not stop

Hi Greg,


I bought a used Horizon CT7.1 (about 4 years old) turned it on and it was working for about 3 minutes.


Then I changes some settings (speed , incline) and the running belt stopped and the incline moved to the highest level.


It seems that the incline motor doesn't even stop (and tries to incline even more) as the incline motor gets hot.

Even when I unplug/turn off the treadmill and then turn it on again, the incline motor immediately tries to incline even more (but its already at the maximum).

The display still indicates speed and incline level according to my button settings - but as already mentioned, the belt is not moving and incline is on max.

I contacted already Horizon and they say that most likely the upper control board is broken.
(but a new upper control board would cost even more than I paid for the treadmill)

As I have an electronics engineering education I would be able to check, repair something on the board.


Do you have a hint for me, what could be broken or what I could check/replace or a circuit plan?

treadmill motor repair or replacement for Smooth brand treadmill model 6.17

Hi,

I have a Smooth brand treadmill in a model that is not even listed on many sites, that being 6.17 and trying to decide on a course of action.

The motor, while still functioning, is clearly starting to fail. It is becoming noisy, starting to smell, and getting so hot I can still barely touch it a half hour after only a 45-minute workout. I have removed it for safety reasons.

Early inquiries seem to make it more expensive to repair than find a reasonably priced new one, but I will continue to inquire.

I found a new one priced online for $500, but that is not doable for various reasons including that I was given a lifetime warranty on the motor to entice my original purchase.

The customer service and now the apparent fact that the company has gone out of business with no one I can find honoring warranties have been totally disgusting.


Plus new treadmills can be purchased for not much more than that.

The actual motor model number is GMD105 by Smooth Fitness.


I am open to all other less expensive possibilities including but not limited to any different brand or generic motors that might be cross-referenced to the original and adapted to my treadmill, an original motor where a trade-in might be accepted to considerably lower the price under the circumstances, or a repair institution that might be better priced than what I have found thus far.

Or if you have any information regarding anyone honoring Smooth fitness warranties that should still be in effect, naturally I would be grateful for any information you might have about that.


I ask you to please let me know about any information or options that might be available to me regarding repairing my particular treadmill.

Keys Fitness Health Trainer ELETE, HT-ELITE

In my manual for the Calibration Sequence, it states to press the "enter" key.

Later at the end of the sequence your to push the "Enter Program" key. There is no "Enter" Key on my machine.


"E" for Enter, "P" for Power & "SS" for Start/Stop, are the coads that should show in the CAL? DIST window.

No where in the manual does it verify which key is the "Enter" key.

Which key is the "Enter" key?

Sorry but i do not have this Trimline 4650 document. Since trimline is discontinued, i suggest you contact Nautilus , the manufacturers to see if you can obtain this document. Some online service engineering sites may also be helpful as they always store this documents for their technical value

Hi, I'm trying to find a good folding treadmill from a a supplier that will ship to Saipan.


I had to cancel a order for a Kettler model when I realized it only runs on 230 volts.

Tunturi's do both, but often this important specification isn't readily available or a search-able criteria.

I don't see Kettler listed; are all the treadmills on your site powered by 110 VAC?

- What state or condition is it in?


Keep in mind that regular wear & tear will take it toll on the items and you may need to buy parts for it once you take ownership.

As a good starting point, take a look at other best selling brand new Treadmills available in the market today. Their pricing should be a good starting point for your offer - why pay more for an old item?

In any case, i would not pay more than USD 500 for it, if its in as new state.

Searching for help and stumbled across your page.

I TOTALLY agree on the Trimline 7200.

Mine's from 2000 and has finally developed an electrical problem that my brother thinks is the circuit board.

He's an electrician and tested the motor - perfect. But he doesn't do circuit boards, especially as he calls mine a 2-sided circuit board.

I found a refurbished board that looks identical to my on fitnessrepairpartscom but the price approaches $300.


If it works I would jump on it but it that's not the problem, their testing & restocking fees are about 50%.

Any ideas on resources for troubleshooting?

P.S. My wife wants me to just toss it but I LOVE this treadmill and after 16 years of faithful service, I feel it's worth fixing.

how much to test and repair?
Disconnected all motors leaving motor board connected to upper control panel board (HMI) only.
Continues to blow 15amp breaker when start button is depressed.

Treadmill motor will run when connected to 12v lawn tractor battery. Tread Deck and belt are in good condition, so i believe motor board has failed.

To get all of it's potential released you have to buy a monthly subscription (around 10$ I read) to get all the functions.

Horizon T73 Lower control board concerns

Hello Mark,

Some how found your ad in google as you may be in a position to help me as my horizon T73 treadmill has lower control board issues.


The led light on the control board is not lighting up and not sure how to fix or to find out which electronic parts needs to be changed to make my treadmill work.


I call the customer support for this to change they are asking me nearly 200$ to fix which I am not willing to spend and I am DIY guy but don't know how to check with the multi-meter to find out which component is not working to make my treadmill work.

Just wanted to let you know I've had this treadmill for 17 years I had to replace one part for $100 3 years ago

I averaged 25 to 30 miles a week on it running it still goes up and down it still goes up to 10 miles per hour

all the programs in the computer still work. the one thing I will say is the heart monitor does not work great anymore

so unless you really had this machine and used it for as many years as I have I don't think it was as cheaply made as you thought

My SportsArt treadmill stopped working after many years of excellent service, precipitated by (I think) a power outage caused by a windstorm.


I do have the power cord plugged in. I changed the 15 amp fuse on the front, next to the power on/off switch, thinking that would be the easiest fix. But I still get no reading on the control panel; no lights at all.


I read the manual online, but bottom line, it says to contact my dealer.


That dealer is long gone, so that's not an option.


I really like this treadmill and I'm not anxious to buy a new one.

Motor stops after 1 second

Now I have another issue.
When I turn it on, the belt motor stops after about 1 second (there is no load on the belt).

It doesn't seem to be a mechanical issue, as i already took out the motor and tried to let it run without the belt - same result.


It seems to be an electrical/electronical issue.


Is there anything you could recommend that i can do?

Hello!

Thanks for your very good and informative site. My question is as follows:

My HITUP Sports treadmill was produced in 2008, motor power controller is down, and no such board can be found.


My idea is to buy a working lower power and upper boards (a set) from existing treadmill and try to fit both into my treadmill.

Does this sound ok? If yes, which spare parts would you suggest me?
