In order to use the Sacred Heart soup diet, a.k.a., the cabbage soup diet, you need a cabbage soup diet recipe. There are a number of variations of the recipe.
Ingredients
Cooking the soup is easy. Cut all the vegetables into small pieces and cover with water (and V-8, if desired) in a large pot. Bring the mixture to a boil and then simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Season to taste.
Cooking the soup too long can destroy the nutrients in the cabbage and other ingredients.
Ingredients
Clean all the vegetables, slice chop into small pieces and place in large pot. Cover them with the tomatoes and chicken broth and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.
Ingredients
Combine all the vegetables in a large pot with water, soup mix, bouillon cubes, and canned tomatoes. Additional water may be added if needed to fully cover the vegetables. Cook over low heat about 15 minutes or until the vegetables are soft.
As you can see, the cabbage soup diet recipe comes in many varieties. Although I don’t recommend the diet, you’ll have lots of recipes to choose from if you decide to try it. Cabbage soup can be tasty, is low in calories, and very filling.
